Classic Chicken Soup
A comforting and nourishing soup thats perfect for any occasion. Loaded with tender chicken, aromatic vegetables, and fragrant herbs, this classic chicken soup is sure to soothe your soul.
Ingredients:
- 1 whole chicken, cut into parts
- 2 carrots, chopped
- 2 celery stalks, chopped
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 8 cups chicken broth
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions:
In a large pot, combine chicken parts, carrots, celery, onion, garlic, chicken broth, bay leaf, and thyme
Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, then reduce heat and let simmer for 30 minutes, skimming off any foam that rises to the surface
Remove chicken parts from the pot, shred the meat, and discard bones and skin
Return shredded chicken to the pot and season with salt and pepper to taste
Simmer for an additional 10 minutes
Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley
