Bettys 3-Bean Hot Dish a la Minnesota
A savory blend of seasonings, ground beef, and three distinct beans come together in this hearty and flavorful hot dish. This recipe, which is a family favorite and adds warmth to any dinner table, is inspired by Minnesota.
Ingredients:
- 1 can 15 oz kidney beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 can 15 oz black beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 can 15 oz cannellini beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can 14
- 5 oz diced tomatoes
- 1 cup frozen corn
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- Cooking spray
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350F 175C
In a large skillet, cook ground beef over medium heat until browned
Drain excess fat
Add chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet
Cook until onion is softened
Stir in diced tomatoes, kidney beans, black beans, cannellini beans, frozen corn, ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, chili powder, salt, and black pepper
Mix well
Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish
Top with shredded cheddar cheese
Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly
Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving
