Turkey Cupcakes for Thanksgiving
Ingredients:
- 1 box of chocolate cupcake mix
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 cups confectioners sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 12 chocolate wafer cookies
- 12 candy eyeballs
- 12 candy corns
- 12 candy orange slices
- 12 pretzel sticks
- Chocolate frosting
- Red and yellow food coloring
Instructions:
Prepare the chocolate cupcake mix according to package instructions and let them cool completely
In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, confectioners sugar, milk, and vanilla extract to make the frosting
Divide the frosting into two portions
Color one portion with yellow food coloring and the other with red food coloring to create orange and red frosting
Frost the cooled cupcakes with the orange frosting to create the turkeys body
Place a chocolate wafer cookie at the bottom of each cupcake as the turkeys tail feathers
Use the red frosting to create a wattle the red fleshy part below the turkeys beak
Place a candy eyeball on top of each cupcake for the turkeys eyes
Insert a candy corn into the frosting just below the eyes to form the beak
Insert a candy orange slice on each side of the cupcake as the turkeys wings
Break the pretzel sticks in half and insert them into the top of the cupcake as the turkeys legs
Using chocolate frosting, draw two curved lines connecting the eyes to the beak to form the turkeys head feathers
Let the frosting set, and your turkey cupcakes for Thanksgiving are ready to enjoy
